Bubbly

* from Park&Cube // Le Fur Coat // A Lovely Being // marie-acidrain //Freunde von Freunden

'I only drink Champagne when I'm happy,
and when I'm sad. sometimes I drink it when I'm alone.
when I have company, I consider it obligatory.
I trifle with it if I am not hungry and drink it when I am.
otherwise I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty.'
- Lily Bollinger

Quietude

I do work on it in the evening when the gramophone is playing late Beethoven sonatas. (The windows fidget at their fastenings as if we were at sea.)

The Food of Love

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.
- Virginia Woolf

Above is the wholesome 365/food project by minato. Really, nothing beats a good, steaming hot homemade soup served with a wooden spoon!

Dancing to a sweet ballad

Slow water runs deep

Amazing photography by Osma Harvilahti

Being profound and seeming profound. - Those who know that they are profound strive for clarity. Those who would like to seem profound to the crowd strive for obscurity. For the crowd believes that if it cannot see to the bottom of something it must be profound. It is so timid and dislikes going into the water.
Nietzsche

Fear gone wild

Anxiety is not fear, exactly, because fear is focused on something right in front of you, a real and objective danger. It is instead a kind of fear gone wild, a generalized sense of dread about something out there that seems menacing — but that in truth is not menacing, and may not even be out there. If you’re anxious, you find it difficult to talk yourself out of this foreboding; you become trapped in an endless loop of what-ifs.

Left-brained

'...dans les champs de l'observation, le hasard ne favorise que les esprits préparés.'
(In the field of observation, chance favors only the prepared mind.)

Counting down;

*from our trip to Paris last year, olympus trip 35

But Paris was a very old city and we were young and nothing was simple there, not even poverty, nor sudden money, nor the moonlight, nor right and wrong nor the breathing of someone who lay beside you in the moonlight.
- Ernest Hemingway

less than 48 hours until the grand finale, and then our spring escape to the great city again. My heart is leaping with joy and full anticipation, and the imaginary suitcase is already filled with rolls of films, LBDs and books to read. But we will be there to get lost in les rues et boulevards, see Paris in its sunshine and mist, visit small shops and galleries and retreat into the night with an abundance of jazz and wine. As always my mind is overwhelmed, overwhelmed, in marche a petit pas.

And perhaps it may rain, but
I can always wear my trench coat, drenched in summer rain.

Les chaussures rouges

'A pretty foot is one of the greatest gifts of nature... please send me your last pair of shoes, already worn out in dancing... so I can have something of yours to press against my heart.'
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
